Mobile Switch Center (MSC) Facilities
CMG has provided commissioning services for numerous wireless telephone equipment switching facilities. Commissioning services include plumbing systems, wet-pipe and preaction sprinkler systems, water mist systems, clean agent fire suppression systems, fire alarm systems, and integrated systems testing with electrical and mechanical systems. The commissioned clean agent fire suppression systems include telecommunications applications with detailed cross-zone logic and varying levels of pre-alarm and alarm conditions. Facility testing includes early warning fire detection (EWFD), very early warning fire detection (VEWFD), clean agent release functions, local, central station, and offsite notification, BAS systems, and HVAC systems including damper control and smoke purge systems. Commissioning efforts also included NFPA 2001 Enclosure Integrity Evaluation (fan testing). CMG’s experience includes renovated facilities, new facilities, and retro-commissioning services for existing facilities.
- Bloomington RNC – Bloomington, Minnesota: CMG provided fire protection commissioning services for an approximately 57,000 S.F. new MSC facility. The project included 14 clean agent zones, 1 preaction zone, a water mist system, among multiple levels of smoke, heat and flame detection.
- St. Clairsville MSC – St. Clairsville, Ohio: Fire protection commissioning for a 9,550 S.F. renovated facility with four clean agent zones and an exterior generator enclosure.
- Dallas – Fort Worth MSC, Euless – Texas: Plumbing and fire protection commissioning services for a new 31,370 S.F. MSC. The project included multiple peer reviews, including design suggestions and cost savings recommendations. The facility housed four clean agent zones, four preaction sprinkler risers, above ceiling detection, and two exterior generator enclosures. Plumbing commissioning involved plumbing fixture operation, water heater response and function, water filter and backflow prevention operation, and circulating pump performance.
- Garfield Heights MSC – Garfield Heights, Ohio: The 24,625 S.F. project involved the renovation and expansion of an existing MSC. The project included nine clean agent zones and one preaction zone with multiple levels of smoke, heat and flame detection. The fire detection and notification systems in two exterior generators were also tested and commissioned.
- Little Rock MSC – Little Rock, Arkansas: Plumbing and fire protection commissioning services for a new 21,040 S.F. MSC. The project included multiple peer reviews, including design suggestions and cost savings recommendations. The facility housed four clean agent zones, two preaction sprinkler risers, above ceiling detection, and two exterior generator enclosures. Plumbing commissioning involved plumbing fixture operation, water heater response and function, and backflow prevention operation.
- Peoria MSC – Peoria, Illinois: Fire protection commissioning and retro-commissioning for a 4,395 S.F. renovated facility with six clean agent zones and an exterior generator enclosure.
- Carbondale MSC – Carbondale, Illinois: Retro-commissioning of the 16,012 S.F. renovated MSC and battery room addition. The project included three existing fire alarm, fire detection, and fire suppression control panels, six clean agent zones and one preaction zone.
- Shreveport MSC – Shreveport, Louisiana: Fire protection commissioning for a new clean agent fire protection zone and retro-commissioning of an existing clean agent zone. Commissioning scope also included testing of detection systems in two new exterior generator enclosures.
- Midland MSC – Midland, Texas: Fire protection retro-commissioning for an existing clean agent fire protection zone which was updated due to mechanical system modifications. Commissioning scope also included testing of detection systems in a new exterior generator enclosure.
